Summary

‘Enchanting’ Independent

‘Joyously imaginative’ Cressida Cowell, author of How to Train Your Dragon

Fourth in the modern-classic and bestselling bookwandering series for readers aged eight to twelve that celebrates all that is best in life: books, adventure, friendship – and cake。

Milo lives on board the Sesquipedalian, or “Quip” – a magical train that uses the power of imagination to travel through both Story and the real world。 The train is owned by Milo’s uncle, Horatio, and Milo has witnessed many of his uncle’s dodgy dealings as a book smuggler trading in rare books。

When Horatio takes on a dangerous new job, he needs the help of Tilly Pages。 And Tilly owes Horatio a favour。 But when poisoned copies of The Wizard of Oz are sent to Horatio and Tilly's grandfather, sending them both into deep sleeps, Milo and Tilly find themselves racing against time to save them – and to figure out what is going on。

Their journey takes them to the Emerald City with Dorothy, rocketing on the unruly Quip, and eventually to Venice in Italy, in pursuit of the mysterious Alchemist。 The very essence of imagination, story itself, may be in danger 。 。 。

This book was decent。 We learned more about Milo in this installment of the series。 There are new characters introduced and the story is left in such a way that there will be another book in the series。 Overall, I did enjoy this book - the best part being that I enjoy sharing the love of reading with my kids。

Another lovely book of Tilly's adventures and book wanderers。 It's more focussed on Milo and Tilly。 I missed Oscar in this one。 Tilly's grandfather is suspended by magic in this one and new secrets are uncovered about Milo's family。 His uncle also seems to be multi-faceted。 It's fast paced and full of mysteries, many of which still remain to be solved。 It explores the use and misuse of book magic and how it is affecting existing establishments。 I galloped through it as it was tough to put it dow Another lovely book of Tilly's adventures and book wanderers。 It's more focussed on Milo and Tilly。 I missed Oscar in this one。 Tilly's grandfather is suspended by magic in this one and new secrets are uncovered about Milo's family。 His uncle also seems to be multi-faceted。 It's fast paced and full of mysteries, many of which still remain to be solved。 It explores the use and misuse of book magic and how it is affecting existing establishments。 I galloped through it as it was tough to put it down。 But am still hanging on to know more。 Can't wait for the next one。 Glad that there are more to books in the series to look forward to。 。。。more

This was book 4 in my fave middle grade series and not only is this cover so beautiful but it was just as enjoyable as the earlier books! We followed Tillie and Milo as they try to save their family members from a mysterious poison book。 Even tho we are following a diff story/mystery with Milo leading the way, we get to adventure into Oz and it was so much fun! If I haven’t convinced you to read this already, here’s me trying again to get you to pick this series up of you like middle grade fanta This was book 4 in my fave middle grade series and not only is this cover so beautiful but it was just as enjoyable as the earlier books! This book is an awesome addition to the series。 I didn‘t think there was going to be another, yet I was happily surprised that there is。 The different point of view and the new characters really added to the story。 It also ended on a major cliffhanger so we‘ll see if there’ll be a 5th!

The imagination and adventure and creativity is downright brilliant! Love the story and ideas。 However, for me, the kid characters all read the same and the narrative feels more journalistic。 Nonetheless, it’s a good read!

I am in between 3 and 4 stars for this book。 The story is shifting from a focus on Tilly to Milo Bolt。 While he was a good side character, I’m not sure about him as a main character。 He doesn’t draw me in the way Tilly did。 Oskar doesn’t come into this book at all, and a new character Alessia comes into prominence toward the end。 The book has a cliffhanger, and the way it ends indicate that the next book will feature Milo and Alessia rather than the original cast。 Story is being shaken to its co I am in between 3 and 4 stars for this book。 The story is shifting from a focus on Tilly to Milo Bolt。 While he was a good side character, I’m not sure about him as a main character。 He doesn’t draw me in the way Tilly did。 Oskar doesn’t come into this book at all, and a new character Alessia comes into prominence toward the end。 The book has a cliffhanger, and the way it ends indicate that the next book will feature Milo and Alessia rather than the original cast。 Story is being shaken to its core and change is coming, maybe that is why I felt uneasy while reading。 Or maybe it’s the poisoning of Arthur Pages and the villain behind the poison。 There was a sentence Tilly tells Milo about from her grandfather that I really like: the books we read help us choose who we want to be, that we’re all made up of the characters that means something to us。 I love to read and it’s wonderful to think that my favorite characters have influenced who I’ve become。This is a middle grade fantasy and the 4th book in the Pages and Co series。 I think that if a child has problems with anxiety this book might add to their anxiousness。 I can’t recommend this one as highly as I do the first 3 books。 。。。more

I'll admit that I was disappointed initially when I discovered that at least half of the book was told from the POV of Milo (introduced in the previous book) rather than all from Tilly's POV。 However, not only did I warm to Milo, but became thoroughly intrigued by his history, his perspective。 Oskar made only a brief appearance in this book, and did not accompany Tilly on any of her book wanderings。 Instead, Tilly's companion was Milo, and I enjoyed this more。 I can't wait for the next entry in I'll admit that I was disappointed initially when I discovered that at least half of the book was told from the POV of Milo (introduced in the previous book) rather than all from Tilly's POV。 However, not only did I warm to Milo, but became thoroughly intrigued by his history, his perspective。 Oskar made only a brief appearance in this book, and did not accompany Tilly on any of her book wanderings。 Instead, Tilly's companion was Milo, and I enjoyed this more。 I can't wait for the next entry in the series (hopefully there is one), but will be curious to see exactly what role everyone plays。 。。。more

Yet another amazing installment of this series! Tilly and Milo really went on an adventure, although I did miss the presence of Oskar in this book。 Story was fun, I liked the setting of the Wizard of Oz, and we are really looking forward to the next one。 That was definitely a cliffhanger! I highly recommend this series to anyone!

I enjoyed the fourth instalment in the Pages & Co series, diving back into Tilly’s world。 We also followed a new perspective in this book too which initially I wasn’t such a fan of because I want to be back with Tilly, the character I’d grown attached to for three books。 However, I quickly warmed to this new narrative perspective。 As always I love the passion for books in these pages。 There is always such love and respect for stories and I adore that。 A favourite quote of mine from the book bein I enjoyed the fourth instalment in the Pages & Co series, diving back into Tilly’s world。 We also followed a new perspective in this book too which initially I wasn’t such a fan of because I want to be back with Tilly, the character I’d grown attached to for three books。 However, I quickly warmed to this new narrative perspective。 As always I love the passion for books in these pages。 There is always such love and respect for stories and I adore that。 A favourite quote of mine from the book being: “Grandad always says that the books we read help us choose who we want to be, that we're all made up of the characters that mean something to us”。 Love this line so much! The first three books in the series are absolutely amazing but this latest installment does not do justice to the series。 It feels more like a spin off than a ccontinuation。 It was still good。 The characters are loveable but I would have liked to see more of the familiar faces。

✨”There is no friend as loyal as a book。”✨— Ernest HemingwayThis is such a sweet book。 I was so shocked when we got a new perspective。 Now the book is split between Milo, on the magical train, and Tilly。 We have also been given new a villain, the scary Alchemist。 There is poison, floundering book magic, magical trains and old fictional and lovable characters! Such a cute read。 Read。 Be happy。 Stay safe。
